The National Executive Council is responsible for over all co-ordination, policy initiatives, holding Meetings / Seminars / Workshops at the National Level and provide leadership and directions to the grass-root level NGO Movement all over the Country.
- The State Chapters should hold regular meetings of the State level Executive Committee and advise the District Level / Regional level Committees to meet, exchange notes, and send their views and recommendations to higher levels for action and response.
- The State Chapters will finalise the Annual Action Plan for being placed before the National Executive Council Meeting for adoption well before the commencement of the Financial Year.
- For the implementation of the Action Plan by the State Chapters and for holding subject matter workshops, seminars, etc., the State Chapters should always look for good sponsors, good corporate enterprises and donors committed to the cause of grass-root level NGOs, who can deliver and demonstrate results for the benefit of the poor people.
- The State Chapters should also identify experts in various disciplines interested to work with CNRI in their areas and these contacts would pave the way for enhancement of the credibility of CNRI Chapters in the service of the grass-root level NGOs.
- State Chapters should establish good working relationship with the Central and State level organizations, PRI Functionaries, District level administration and DRDAs, with the objective of playing their role as a partner in the development programmes and as a service oriented organisation representing the interests of grass-root level NGOs.
- State Chapters should impress upon their Member NGOS to make income generation activities, an integral part of their efforts to help their target groups and end-beneficiaries. Unless income generation opportunities are created in rural areas by the activities of NGOs, rural unemployment will remain and consequently the problem of rural poverty will persist. It is imperative, therefore, that simultaneous with the implementation of social oriented programmes, economic activities should also be given equal emphasis. As the logical next step the NGOs and the Self Help Groups working with them should take full advantage of the emerging markets for their products at the local / national and international levels.
